The Cons
Video Conferencing comes with a lot of variation. It's tough to find the right fit for a mid-sized company, there are too many price tags that come in the middle. Give the free-trials a test before you make a decision.
Specifics
Skype (Premium/Business): The lag doesn't stop, even if you pay money. It's also really confusing - Skype for Business, or Microsoft Lync? Customer support is only available if you log in, which is a hassle. Did I mention the lag...?
GoToMeeting: Consistency is still a huge problem. Besides that, GTM has the tendency to lag horribly. It lacks heavily in intuitive design. Meetings can only be recorded on PCs... Meeting requests also can't be sent out directly from the website as an invite.
WebEx: They say they have 24/7 customer service, but some customers never even get a response. The interface of WebEx can't full screen. Whatever version you get, there can only be 7 video participants at a time. WebEx's default browser is Internet Explorer, and it makes shared files into PDFs often.
Fuze: Glitching for ever! A funny fact is, people don't get email recepts when they start paying. Even with $20 a month, users still can't record meetings. The biggest recurring statement is that Fuze is not dependable.
The Benefits
Video conferencing is great when it's affordable. But... how do you pick from all of the options?!
Specifics
Skype (Premium/Business): Premium Business version allows for 250 participants in a video call. It not only comes with Office 365 and storage, it comes with Office applications for the PC, Mac, tablets, and phones.
GoToMeeting: Pro Version allows for 25 participants. You can screenshare, have live support 24/7, basically everything that the free option could offer you. One added bonus is the fact that you can record your meetings.
WebEx: Boasts high security. Not only is it compatible across many decives, it also works with Windows, Mac, and Linux. Meetings can be recorded on any verion, and there is live 24/7 customer support. For all of the doodlers, they also havea drawing tool.
Fuze: The Pro version allows for 25 voice participants, and 12 video participants. Share screens in HD, and send files to colleagues.
